These Terms govern your use of Pustak AI, including our website at www.pustakai.com, our web app at app.pustakai.com and the Pustak AI mobile app (together, the "platform"). Pustak AI is based in Kondapur, Hyderabad, India. By using the platform you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using it.
Eligibility and Accounts
- Parents and legal guardians must be 18 or older to create an account. They sign in with their Google account, or by other methods we offer, and manage the student profiles linked to their account.
- Students use profiles created for them by a parent or legal guardian and sign in with a student code and PIN. Students cannot register themselves.
You confirm that the information you give us is accurate, and that you are the parent or legal guardian of any child whose profile you add.
Your Account and Security
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details and student PINs secure and for all activity under your account. The app keeps you signed in on your device for up to 12 months, so sign out on any shared device. Tell us straight away at support@pustakai.com if you think someone else has used your account.
What Pustak AI Offers
- AI-generated practice questions and exam papers built from your lessons, uploads and topics.
- Practice exams that students can take on screen, and evaluation of written answers from photos of an answer sheet.
- Results, reports and learning history for each student.
- Reward points that students earn by learning, which a parent can redeem for gifts in the Rewards Store.
- Student profiles ("My Kids").
- An in-app assistant, plus PDF download and print of exam papers.
Features, plans and availability can differ by account type and may change over time.
Educational Purpose
Pustak AI is an educational assistance platform. It does not replace schools, teachers or formal academic assessment, and its results are not official grades or certifications.
Mobile App
The mobile app opens our web app inside the app. It is distributed through app stores such as Google Play, and your use of it is also subject to the store's terms. Some features need an internet connection and an up-to-date version of the app. Features that use your camera, photos or microphone work only if you grant the relevant permission, which you can withdraw in your device settings.
Coins and Plans
Coins are digital credits used for eligible AI features, such as generating exam papers. The number of coins used depends on the type and number of questions. Some coins may be credited to you when you register. You can buy a plan that includes coins; the coins are credited to your wallet after the payment succeeds. Where a plan or coins have a validity period, it is shown when you buy. Coins have no cash value, cannot be redeemed for money, and are non-transferable except where required by law.
Reward Points and the Rewards Store
Students earn reward points for learning on Pustak AI: points for correct answers in practice exams, points for each day of a daily streak (a day on which the student finishes an exam or a flash-card deck), and bonus points when a streak reaches a milestone. Repeating an exam only earns points for answers beyond the student's best earlier score. We decide how many points each activity earns and may change this at any time. Points already earned are not reduced by such a change.
Points belong to the student's profile. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and cannot be transferred to another profile or person. The only way to use them is to redeem them for gifts in the Rewards Store.
How to redeem. Students can browse the Rewards Store, but only a parent or legal guardian can redeem a gift. The parent opens the child's account from My Kids using Switch, chooses a gift that the child's points cover, and enters the delivery details. The points are taken from the child's balance as soon as the redemption is placed. The store shows only gifts that are available and in stock. The points cost you confirm is the cost that applies; if it changes while you are redeeming, you will be asked to check it again.
Delivery. We send the gift to the address you give, so please check that the recipient's name, address, pincode, mobile number and email are correct. Delivery is currently available within India only. Gift pictures and descriptions are for guidance, and the item you receive may differ slightly. We are not responsible for delay or failed delivery caused by incorrect details or by events outside our control.
Cancellations and refunds of points. A redemption cannot be changed or cancelled in the app once it is placed. If a detail is wrong, email support@pustakai.com as soon as possible. We may cancel a redemption, for example if the gift is no longer available, we cannot deliver to the address, or we find misuse. When we cancel one, the points go back to the child's balance. Once a gift is marked as delivered, the redemption is final. Points are never refunded in money.
Changes and misuse. We may add, change or withdraw gifts, stock, points costs or the points programme at any time. We may cancel redemptions or suspend an account if points were earned or redeemed through misuse, such as fake or automated activity. Unredeemed points are forfeited if the account is deleted.
Payments, Refunds and Cancellation
Payments are processed by Razorpay, and its terms also apply to the payment. Prices are shown at checkout. Coins and plans purchased through Razorpay are generally non-refundable once successfully credited, except where required by applicable law or in the event of duplicate or failed transactions. Coins already used to generate or evaluate content are not refunded, but if a generation or evaluation fails because of an error on our side, contact us and we will review it. Acceptable Use
You must not:
- Upload illegal, infringing, abusive or harmful content, or content that is unsuitable for children.
- Upload other people's personal information or materials without the right to do so.
- Share your sign-in details or student PINs, or use someone else's account.
- Attempt to misuse the AI services, to get around coin, payment or access limits, or to earn or redeem reward points through fake or automated activity.
- Use bots, scrapers or other automated means to use the platform, or send excessive requests.
- Reverse-engineer, interfere with, or try to gain unauthorised access to the platform or its infrastructure.
- Use the platform for any purpose other than lawful educational use.
Your Content
You keep ownership of the lessons, photos, notes and other materials you upload. You are responsible for making sure you have the right to upload them. By uploading content, you give Pustak AI a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and process it, including through the third-party services described below, only to provide the platform to you.
Uploaded Content and Copyright
You and your child choose what to upload, such as photos, PDFs, text and other lesson material, and the exam papers we generate are built from it. Pustak AI does not provide, review, verify or endorse this material, and we do not check it for copyright before or after it is uploaded.
This includes material from CBSE, NCERT and State board syllabi, textbooks and sample papers, material from schools and coaching institutes, and digital or printed content from education publishers, all of which may be protected by copyright or other rights.
You are solely responsible for making sure you have the right to upload and use any content, including permission from the copyright owner where it is needed, and for how you use, print, share or distribute the exam papers generated from it. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pustak AI is not responsible or liable for any content uploaded by parents or students, for exam papers generated from it, or for any copyright, licence or other claim that a board, publisher, school or other third party makes about it.
Pustak AI is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by CBSE, NCERT, any State board, school or publisher. Their names are used only to describe the syllabus or material you choose.
If you believe content on the platform infringes your rights, email support@pustakai.com with the details and we will review it. We may remove content or restrict access while we do.
AI Services
The platform uses OpenAI services and a Gemma model that we host. AI-generated questions, explanations, evaluations and recommendations may occasionally be wrong or incomplete. Evaluation of handwritten answers also depends on how clear the photo is. Parents should review them and should not rely on AI output alone for important decisions.
Third-Party Services
The platform relies on third-party services, including Google (sign-in), Razorpay, OpenAI and OCR.Space. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them, and we are not responsible for how they operate. See our Privacy Policy for what we share with them.
Intellectual Property
The platform, including its design, software, branding and the content we create, belongs to Pustak AI or its licensors. These Terms do not give you any right to it except to use the platform as described here.
Availability and Changes
We work to keep the platform available, but it is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may change, suspend or discontinue features or the platform, or limit access to certain features, at any time.
Account Deletion, Suspension and Termination
You can delete your account in the app under Settings, then Account, as explained in our Privacy Policy. Coins and unredeemed reward points may be forfeited when an account is deleted unless the law requires otherwise. We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these Terms, without notice.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pustak AI is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from your use of, or inability to use, the platform. Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have under applicable consumer protection law.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last Updated" date above shows the latest version. If you keep using the platform after a change, you accept the updated Terms. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app, on the website or by email.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000. Disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Hyderabad, Telangana.
